ean A. Pugh was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a strong, independent and loving woman. Jean was born on January 8, 1946 in North Hampton County, North Carolina. She left her home state of North Carolina and relocated to Washington, DC. Jean was employed by Greater Southeast Community Hospital where she devoted over 40 years as a caterer and nutritionist.
Jean first met Isiah as a teenager in 1959. Twenty years later, they became reacquainted and married on July 20, 1980.
Her interests included bowling, traveling, and cooking. She enjoyed watching tennis and was a dedicated Washington Redskins fan. Jean loved her family and treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren.
She loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Fort Washington Baptist Church.
Jean lost her battle with cancer on December 11, 2014. She is survived by her loving husband Isiah E. Pugh Jr. (Gene), three sons Isiah E. Pugh III(Buster), Robert Pugh and Christopher Pugh (Chris), two daughters Tiffany Pugh and Monique Hill(Nikki), one son-in-law, two daughter-in-laws, twelve grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to Jean's Life Celebration on Friday, December 19 from 5:30 Pm until time of services at 7 pm At Fort Washington Baptist church, 11516 Fort Washington Rd., Fort Washington, MD. Interment will take place at the Pugh Family Cemetery, Donalson, GA.
