Jeanette Bogaczyk - Obituary

J

eanette “Jean” Bogaczyk 66, a 10-year resident of Annapolis and previously of Bowie, MD, died on April 8 at the Mandrin Chesapeake Hospice House in Harwood, MD. Born December 5, 1943 to Mary and the late John “Jack” Garman, she married John M. Bogaczyk on April 1, 1967. She attended Cornerstone Assembly of God in Bowie for nearly 20 years where she was involved in the choir, coordinated blood drives, worked with the scrip program and ran the Annual Fall Harvest Festival. Jeanette was an auxiliary volunteer at Anne Arundel Medical Center, even during her illness. She was also involved with Wellspring Christian Ministries and attended their Bible Study. Jeanette loved children and was a foster parent with Jack for several years for Bethany Christian Services, fostering newborn babies until they were adopted. She also loved horses and spent time each year in Chincoteague, VA for the Annual Pony swim and auction. Jeanette enjoyed gardening, antiquing and, most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren. She planned “family fun days” with them and looked forward, as they did, to gatherings at her “B's Nest” home in Chincoteague during the summer. In addition to her husband, Jeanette is survived by four children: Jeffrey S. Bogaczyk and his wife, Lisa of Pittsburgh, PA, Brent A. Bogaczyk, Sr. and his wife, Julie of Owings, MD, Jason J. Bogaczyk and Keren A. Bogaczyk, both of Annapolis; her mother, Mary Garman of Bowie and one brother, John Garman of Los Angeles, CA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Brent, Jr., Brandon, Jacob, Bradley, Alyssa, Brooke and Jesse Bogaczyk. Friends are invited to Jeanette's Life Celebration at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Monday, April 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 13 at 11 a.m. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
