Jeannette Quillen - Obituary

eannette A. “Nana” Quillen, 92, a 30 year resident of Edgewater and formerly of Grasonville, died Thursday, December 18 of natural causes. Born on September 6, 1922 to the late George and Elizabeth Asquith, she worked for the US Naval Academy in the laundry division. She was a member of the Eastport Baptist Church in Annapolis and enjoyed knitting and taking bus trips with the church. Jeannette is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Philmore Wilkinson; her second husband, Elwood “Jack” Quillen; two sons, John Asquith and Joseph Wilkinson; and seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by one daughter Dorothy Dove; one sister, Joan Anne “Vicky” Owens; nine grandchildren, Donald, Alvin, Ronnie, Bobby, James, Joe, Tamara, Jeannie and Debbie; and 8 great-grandchildren. A public viewing will be held on Sunday, December 21 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, where a funeral service will be held on Monday, December 22 at 10AM. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Annapolis.
