Jennie Carrick Spicknall - Obituary

ennie Carrick Spicknall, a 68-year resident of Riva, MD, died on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at her home. She was 91. Born June 9, 1926, in Hall, MD, to the late Walter Benjamin and Blanche Coale Carrick, she worked as a bookkeeper for Rainbow Cleaners of Annapolis from 1965 until her retirement in 1991. Jennie enjoyed raising zinnias and gladiolus. Her other hobbies included basket making, playing cards, crabbing, dancing and traveling. Jennie loved spending as much time with her children and grandchildren as possible. She was preceded in death by her husband, of 68 years, Mac Spicknall. Jennie is survived by two sons, Warren Spicknall, Jr. and his wife, Jan of Crownsville, MD and Paul Spicknall and his wife, Ellen of Annapolis, MD; seven grandchildren, Jason, Tevis, Luke and Kerith Spicknall, Heather Burns, Erin Worth and Jessica Butler; and ten great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Sunday, July 16 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery, Annapolis, MD.
