ennifer Lorenz Elwood, 44, a four year resident of Annapolis, MD and previously of Williamstown, NJ died on September 3, 2008 at her home in Annapolis, MD of breast cancer after an 18 month illness.
Born December 27, 1963 in Camden, NJ, she received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology from Leigh University in 1984, and then received her Masters of Science Degree in Biology from Old Dominion University in 1988, then finally receiving her PhD from Drexel University in 2003. She was employed as a Biology Professor at Anne Arundel Community College. She was a research scientist student, where she studied salamander morphology & ecology and authored scientific papers. Her memberships included The Society of Integrative and Comparative Biology (SICB) and the Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles (SSAR).
Beloved wife of John Elwood, whom she married in 1986; mother of Thomas Elwood of Annapolis, MD and Cecilia Elwood of Annapolis, MD; daughter of Edith C. & James B. Lorenz of Mt. Ephraim, NJ.
Friends are invited to Jennifer's Life Celebration on Monday, September 8 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 301 Rowe Blvd, Annapolis, MD from 4pm until time of memorial service at 5pm. Interment private. Arrangements by the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, Edgewater, MD.
