eraldine Rodgers Henderson, 96, a nine-year resident of Annapolis, MD and previously
of Reading, MA, died Thursday, December 13, 2018, in Annapolis, MD following a brief
illness.
Affectionately known as "Jeri" and "Nana", she was born February 16, 1922, in Hubbard,
IA to the late Cecil Rodgers and Jennie Ziemke. Jeraldine proudly served her country in
the United States Coast Guard during WWII.
In addition to her parents, and her brother Dallas Rodgers, she was preceded in death
by her husband of 64 years, Robert Fisher Henderson.
Jeraldine is survived by four children, Robert (Ginny) Henderson of Mason, MI, James
(Sharon) Henderson of Manassas, VA, Wendy (George) Waymouth of Annapolis, MD,
and Amy (Hugh) Boyd of Montclair, NJ; seven grandchildren, Robert and Brian
Henderson, Natalie (Tim) Baird, Robert (Jess), David (Ting), and Scott (Molly)
Waymouth, and Megan Boyd; and three great-grandchildren.
Jeri’s hobbies included needlework and quilting, as well as researching her family
history. As matriarch, she enjoyed nothing more than gathering her family together for
elaborate Christmas celebrations, summer getaways and playing mini golf.
A memorial service at Ft. Myer Chapel at Arlington National Cemetery will be held at a
later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to PBS, 11767
