Jerome Zadera - Obituary

erome Sidney Zadera, Sr. Jerome Sidney Zadera, Sr., a 66 year resident of Annapolis, MD and previously of Baltimore, MD, died on May 7, 2009 at George Washington Hospital in Washington, D.C. due to a stroke. He was 72. Born May 12, 1936 in Baltimore, MD to the late Jerome and Margaret Zadera, he was a graduate of Annapolis Senior High School. He served in the United States Navy as a musician from 1955 to 1975 during which time he was a drummer with the US Naval Academy Band. He retired from in 1975. After his retirement from the band he worked as a manager of the service station at the US Navy Exchange. Jerome enjoyed music, tennis and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Janet Zadera, of Annapolis, whom he married on December 23, 1956; his children Jerome S. Zadera, Jr., of Annapolis and Tracy Kruk of Arnold, MD. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Thomas Zadera, Jerome S. Zadera, III of Annapolis, and twins Kevin and Kylie Kruk of Arnold and was predeceased by his sister Judith McFarland. Friends are invited to celebrate Jerome's life at a memorial service with military honors on Tuesday May 12, 2009 at 11am at Calvary United Methodist Church, 301 Rowe Blvd., Annapolis, MD 21401. A reception will follow in the church hall. Inurnment will take place at a later date, In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA of Anne Arundel County, 1815 Bay Ridge Ave., Annapolis, MD 21403.
