Jill Montone - Obituary

ill Leslie Montone, of North Beach, Maryland passed away on Sunday, March 23rd, 2014 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. She was 57. She was born Jill Wagner on May 26th, 1956. In 1982, she married Albert Montone, and together they had two children, Annelise (Annie) and Pierrette. Jill worked as Parent Programs Coordinator at the United States Naval Academy Alumni Association where she formed many lifelong friendships. She loved hot tunes and good movies, serving as film critic and correspondent for the Montgomery County Sentinel in the mid-1980s. Jill's love for her husband and best friend, Albert, was unparalleled, and she will forever remain the coolest mom. A lover of big, dumb dogs and a wickedly fun friend, if Jill had been a color it would have been her favorite one: yellow. She is survived by her children, her husband Albert, her father, Philip Wagner, her brother and sister-in-law Brian and Linda Wagner, her son-in-law Rob Vary and many loving friends and family. A memorial service will be held at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater at noon on April 13th, 2014. A reception will follow at 2:00 p.m. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in Jill's name to the Golden Retriever Rescue of Southern Maryland, in honor of her deep affection for her beloved Goldens.
