ames “Jimmie” Jack Wilder, 84, a resident of Annapolis, MD for over 75 years and previously of Rose Hill, VA, died in Annapolis, MD on November 18, 2021 following a lengthy illness. Also known as “Big Jim” and “Pop”, he was born on December 31, 1936 in Rose Hill, VA to the late Guston and Selma Wilder. Following his graduation from Annapolis High School, Jimmie started his career as a home builder with Continental Homes. He then went on to work as the sales manager at E.J. Korvettes, a sales associate at Koon’s Annapolis and Glen Burnie, and manager at Granny’s Carport. Jimmie also worked as a handyman at the Wild Orchid Cafe. He was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Parish in Annapolis, MD and Annapolis Elks Lodge #622. Jimmie enjoyed gardening, antiques, carpentry, camping, and watching football, especially the Baltimore Ravens. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew Wall. Jimmie is survived by his wife of 64 years, Judith Ann Wilder; three children, James (Karen) Wilder of Annapolis, MD, Debra Leonard of Arnold, MD, and Sonya (Stephen) McKenney of Severna Park, MD; two sisters, Iva Styles of Annapolis, MD and Peggy Mosley of McGrady, NC; eight grandchildren, Lindsey (Gabe) McCollough, Rhiannon (Jason) Meisner, Stephanie (Randy) Groff, Matthew McKenney, Abigail McKenney, Jeff (Shira) Wall, Eric (Sophie) Wall, Nick Wall and five great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jimmie’s life on Monday, November 29 from 2 to 4 PM at Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 10:30 AM at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N. Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 1877, Salisbury, MD 21802. Condolences may be made by using the Memories tab.
