Joan Costigan - Obituary

fter a long illness, died peacefully at home on February 23rd due to complications resulting from dementia. Beloved wife of John Costigan, Jr. and mother of Lynn, Michael and Joseph Deavers; step mother to John III, Joseph and Janet Costigan; grandmother to; Cora Getz, Eli and Vera Costigan. Prior resident for 25 years at Burke, Virginia and elementary teacher for 37 years, including 30 years with Cora Kelly Magnet School in Alexandria, VA. Friends may call at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomon Island Rd, Edgewater, MD near Annapolis, MD at noon on Monday, February 29th for a viewing, followed by a service at 1pm. She will be interred in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date in a private ceremony.
