Joan T. Fedorkowicz - Obituary

oan T. Fedorkowicz, a 60-year resident of Annapolis, MD died of heart failure on Monday, December 12, 2022, at Anne Arundel Medical Center. She was 91. Born February 19, 1931, in Wilmington, DE to the late Leo and Alice Tucker, Joan graduated from the Ursuline Academy in 1948. Joan started working once her children were older and eventually retired from the Maryland District Court as supervisor of the Maryland Automated Traffic System (MATS). Joan loved cooking, reading, gardening, volunteering and traveling. She was a member of the Red Hat Society (Batty Hatties), the Lady of the Elks and lifetime member of Sunny Shores Beach. In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband John L. Fedorkowicz, who she married January 13, 1951; a daughter, Deborah L. Fedorkowicz and two brothers, Michael F. Tucker and J. Richard Tucker. Joan is survived by four children, Joseph J. Fedorkowicz (Anna) of Ocean City, MD, Carl G. Fedorkowicz (Bobbye) of Lusby, MD, Eric L. Fedorkowicz of Annapolis, MD, and Mary A. Hutchins (Steve) of Arnold, MD; four grandchildren, Jonathan Fedorkowicz (Cheryl), Stephen Fedorkowicz (Amy), Megan Montgomery (Josh) and David Hutchins; four great-grandchildren Marcus Fedorkowicz, Peyton Fedorkowicz, McKenna Montgomery, Elise Fedorkowicz, and many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to celebrate Joan’s life on Monday, December 19 from 10 am until her funeral service begins at 12 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD.
