Joan Hurley - Obituary

oan Hurley, age 74, a 7-year resident of Edgewater, MD and formerly of Shady Side, MD, died on April 15, 2009 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center of natural causes. Joan was born on April 4, 1935 in Washington, DC. She was a homemaker most of her life. She was an active member of the South County Senior Center and she enjoyed crafts, especially crocheting. She was the beloved wife of the late William W. Hurley, Jr. who died in 2002. They were married for 50 years. She was the beloved mother of Billy Hurley of Waldorf, MD, Linda Whitham of Edgewater, MD and the late Steven Hurley. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Friends may call at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00pm where services will be held on Tuesday, April 21, at 12:00pm. Interment Glenwood Cemetery in Washington, D.C.
