oan Theresa Zamostny, “Joey”, a lifelong resident of Edgewater, MD died on December 1 at her home. Born on August 20, 1939 in Long Beach, CA to the late Lawrence and Evelyn Page, Joey retired after working in banking with Annapolis Banking & Trust. She loved the Baltimore Ravens and enjoyed picking crabs, gardening, making and sending greeting cards and cooking for her family at family gatherings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 1997 by her husband, John Zamostny; a son, Chuck Whitaker, a step-daughter, Terry Baumgartner and a sister, Ruthie Phaneuf. She is survived by a son, David Traylor; 2 daughters, Wanda Basil and Brenda Webb; 2 stepsons, Sam Traylor and John Zamostny, Jr.; 3 step-daughters, Susie Hanecke, Carol Sullivan and Linda Ivko; one sister, Catherine Page; her step-mother, Cora Page; and numerous grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends are invited to Joey’s Life Celebration from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Friday, December 5 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Graveside service and interment will follow at 1:30 pm at Cedar Bluff Cemetery in Annapolis, MD.. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the SPCA of Anne Arundel Co., 1815 Bay Ridge Ave., Annapolis, MD 21403 or the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
