Joann Ryan - Obituary

oann Dorothy Ryan, 77, of Severna Park and previously of Davidsonville passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2016 from complications of a stroke. Joann was born in Washington, DC on September 14, 1939 to the late George and Dorothy Webster. She was a 1957 graduate of Notre Dame Academy and a 1960 graduate of St. Agnes School of Nursing. In addition to being a mom, Joann was a registered nurse, who worked for Shady Side Medical Associates under Dr. William P. Jones and Dr. Harvey Steinfeld. She enjoyed crafts, bingo, solitaire, and sewing. In addition to her parents, Joann was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Ryan of 44 years in 2005, and a daughter, Kathleen Ryan. Joann is survived by four children, Patrick Ryan of Baltimore, Sean Ryan of Annapolis, Shannon Leonard of Red Lion, PA, and Heather-Ann Tydings of Davidsonville; five grandchildren, Andrew, Frankie, Alli, Brandon, and Katie; and a brother, George Webster. Friends are invited to celebrate Joann's life on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD 21037.
