J

ocelyn Florence Calame, 81, a 51-year resident of Annapolis and previously of Schenectady, NY, passed away at her home on January 23, 2017. Born on March 26, 1935 in Queens Village, New York, NY, Jocelyn earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in education from Queens College in 1956 and a Master of Arts degree from Albany State University in 1962. She began her career as an elementary school teacher in Flushing, NY in 1957. Jocelyn moved to Schenectady, NY in 1960 and continued teaching until 1963 when she changed career paths to pursue her passion as a full-time mother. She and her family moved to Annapolis in 1966. Jocelyn was a Christian Scientist and enjoyed bowling, playing bridge, cooking, traveling, and watching football and basketball games. Most of all, she loved socializing with friends and family. Jocelyn was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Gerald P. Calame who died in 2014. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey P. Calame and daughter-in-law, Lynn Stonebraker of Annapolis. A celebration of Jocelyn’s life will be held in the spring.
