ohanna M. “Nancy” Nuthall, 71, a 2-year resident of Deale and previously of Upper Marlboro, died September 7, 2011, surrounded by her family at the Mandrin Chesapeake Hospice House in Harwood after a lengthy battle with Ataxia. Born April 2, 1940 in Haarlem, Holland to the late Cornelius and Hendrika Van't Hoff, Nancy immigrated to the United States when was 17 years old. She worked as a bindery worker for District Lithograph until she and her husband started a family. After her children were grown, Nancy resumed her career, working at District Creative Printing for 10 years. An avid animal lover, she raised many pets, especially dogs and birds. She also enjoyed doll collecting, shopping, and spending summer vacations with her family camping in Chincoteague, VA. Nancy was predeceased by her husband, Leonard “Mickey” Nuthall, whom she married August 29, 1964, and who died in 1997 and her brothers, Fred and Rudolf “Rudy” Van't Hoff. She is survived by her sons, Scotty A. (Kathy) Nuthall of Deale, and Jeffrey W. (Reita) Nuthall of Clinton, and one sister, Carla Rose of Dunkirk. She was Oma (grandmother) to Emily, Austin and Alyssa Nuthall, and is also survived by her sister-in-law, Carol A. Nuthall of Edgewater. Friends may call on Friday, September 9 from 6 to 8pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD where funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 10 at 10am. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family strongly encourages memorial contributions be made in Nancy's memory to the Mandrin Chesapeake Hospice House, 3675 Solomons Island Road, Harwood, MD 20776.
