J

ohn Michael Bachkosky, IV “Jack” , an 8 year resident of Edgewater and previously of Ft. Washington, MD passed away on Saturday March 22, 2008 of heart failure at Baltimore Washington Medical Center, he was 68. Born on November 1,1939 in Duryea, PA to John M. Bachkosky III and Mary Bachkosky, he graduated Penn State University with a degree in engineering/physics. He worked for the Dept. of Defense for 30 years, retiring in 1995. After retiring he worked as a consultant for numerous companies for the past 13 years. He was honored many times by Presidential as well as Senior Ranking Government officials. He has served as a subject matter expert on countless technical endeavors and committees and led NRAC for the past 3 years. He was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church in Davidsonville, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved to golf, ski, travel, advise his children and praise his grandchildren every step of the way. He is survived by his wife Helen F. Bachkosky, whom he married June 18, 1960. Also survived by his daughters Arlene Ingari of San Antonio, TX, Janice Bachkosky of Alexandria, VA, Karen Huntley of Millersville, MD and his son John M. Bachkosky V of Millersville, MD and 9 loving grandchildren. Also survived by his sisters Patricia Zelenowski of Duryea, PA and Helen Marie Embleton of Dunkirk, MD, 3 brothers Joseph Bachkosky of Laflin, PA, Robert Bachkosky of Morris Plains, NJ and David Bachkosky of Bear, Delaware. Relatives and friends are invited to Jack's Life Celebration on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 from 1-3 & 6-8pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home 2973 Solomons Island Rd. Edgewater, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11AM on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at Holy Family Catholic Church 826 W. Central Ave. Davidsonville, MD 21035. Interment private.
