John Albert Bromley - Obituary

ohn Albert Bromley, Jr, 87, a long-time resident of Bowie, MD and Ocean View, DE, passed away on October 27, 2020. He was born on December 23, 1932 in Baltimore, MD to the late John Albert Bromley and Olivia Estelle Hearn. After graduating high school, John attended the University of Maryland College Park until he was drafted into the US Army on September 10, 1956. He served in Seoul, Korea. Once he was honorably discharged, John began his career in commercial construction as a chief estimator. He retired in 2002 and enjoyed many happy years at the beach. He loved attending social dances and listening to live music. John was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Bowie Elks Lodge. John was a loving and proud father and grandfather. “Grandpa Jack” was a very special person and found so much joy in spending time with his family and friends. John is survived by his 3 sons: David, and his wife Sybil, of Carmel, Indiana, granddaughter Jessica; his son Steven, and his wife Barbara, of Annapolis, MD, grandson Brock; and his son Shaun, and his wife Elizabeth, of Edgewater, MD, grandchildren Charlotte and Jonathan. Friends and family are invited to celebrate John’s life on Friday, November 6, 2020 at Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD. There will be visitation hours from 11am – 1pm, with a memorial service at 1pm at Kalas Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Purple Heart Foundation, purpleheartfoundation.org.
