J

ohn Cordon Fullem, 88, a resident of Heritage Harbour in Annapolis and previously of New Carrollton, died October 9 at his home. Born April 20, 1925 in Utica, NY to the late Joseph and Lena Fullem, John joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1943 and was honorably discharged as a Corporal in 1946. He graduated from St. Bonaventure University in 1950 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. John had a successful 31-year public service career which began in 1951 as a special agent at the FBI. In 1957, he joined the Department of Commerce as a security officer and in 1959 moved to the Department of Health, Education and Welfare as a personnel security specialist. In 1967, John became the Deputy Director of Policy Management at the Food and Drug Administration from which he retired in 1982. John was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Annapolis and the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid bike rider. He was preceded in death by all five of his brothers and sisters. John is survived by his wife of 66 years, Helen Fullem; three sons, Michael (Helen) Fullem of Riva, Terry (Debra) Fullem of Edgewater and Mark (Meg) Fullem of Brookville; three daughters, Kathleen (Cary) Heefner of Annapolis, Karen Fullem of Annapolis, and Maureen (Rick) Distad of Bowie; 10 grandchildren: Richard (Jodi)and Brian Distad, Adam (Jen) and Lauren (Alberto) Wright, and Patrick, Danny (Alex), Nicole, Mariah, Megan and Cristin Fullem. He is also survived by one great-granddaughter, Olivia Fullem. All funeral services for John will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O.
