John Kuchinski - Obituary

ohn Michael Kuchinski, “Mike”, died March 31, 2011 at his home in Ashton after an 18-month battle with cancer. He was born April 11, 1954 in Washington, DC to the late Joseph and Helen Kuchinski and graduated from the University of Maryland in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. Mike had a fulfilling career as a scientist at the FDA’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health. He retired in September 2010. Mike was an avid sports fan and zealously followed the Redskins, Orioles and University of Maryland teams. He was also a history and science buff but his greatest passion was for his family and he treasured the time he spent with them. Mike is survived by his wife, Nicole Wolanski, three children, Todd, Jamie and Kellie Kuchinski, all of Ashton; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Debby Kuchinski of Colorado and their son, Jesse (Jessica) Kuchinski of Texas; and a sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Joseph Griffin, and their daughter, Erin Griffin, of Rockville. A memorial service will be held for Mike on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at the University of Maryland Memorial Chapel, 1101 Memorial Chapel, College Park. Interment private.
