ohn Wesley McIntyre went home to be with the Lord and the Angels on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, after battling a stroke, and brain surgery. John was born on April 6, 1949 in North Carolina, but was raised in Northwest, Washington, DC to his late parents Rosa Lee Overton, and Joseph McIntyre. He was born amongst five siblings. Clarence Overton, Steve McIntyre, Garland McIntyre, Lloyd McIntyre, and his late sister Barbara McIntyre. John attended the DC public school system, and after his years in school he began working for Safeway as a Meat Cutter , up until March 1990. In 1998 he began his new career as a bus driver with Prince George's County Public Schools. He met an began dating his wife, Barbara Z. McIntyre in 1979, and they later married in 1998. John was a very hard working man with a wonderful personality and he was very much a people person. John was also given the nickname "Shayne" by some of his family members and "Mack" by his close friends. John's fun-loving personality is what endeared him to relatives, co-workers, friends, and strangers. He always found a way to make people laugh and smile. He had a passion for playing music, cutting hair, and loved to do handywork. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife Barbara Z. McIntyre, his sons Maurice McIntyre, and Kevin Coachman and his daughters Angela Robinson, Cortella Robinson, Michelle Jules, Tonya Robinson, and Erika McIntyre; his stepchildren Maurice, Anthony , Leonard Randolph Jr., Sandra , and Deborah ; His daughter in law, Sabrina McIntyre; and his son in law Sheldon Jules; and 47 grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren, relatives, and two very close friends, Frank Houston and Alonzo Jackson. A special nephew Darren McIntyre. Relatives nad friends are invited to John's Life Celebration of Friday July 27 from 9am until time of services at 11am at Southern Missionary Baptist Chruch, 4444 Old Branch ave., Temple Hills, MD.
