John Moreland - Obituary

LICK HERE TO VIEW JOHN'S VIDEO TRIBUTE Services for John Carl Moreland, 25, of Severna Park and formerly of Riva, will be held at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, where friends and family may call from 6 p.m. until the time of the service. Mr. Moreland died at the scene of injuries suffered in a hit-and-run accident Oct. 28 on Route 50 near St. Margarets Road. An article on the accident appeared in The Capital on Oct. 29. Born Nov. 7, 1981, in Silver Spring, he graduated in 2000 from South River High School. He worked at South River Carpet Cleaning and Restoration as a carpet and upholstery cleaner. He enjoyed boating, his truck and animals and was interested in physical fitness and becoming a police officer. Surviving are his parents, Fred and Debbie Moreland, and his grandfather, Joseph C. Kaub, all of Severna Park; one brother, Edward B. Moreland of Pennsburg, Pa.; and one sister, Ilona Moreland of Boston. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
