J

ohn D. Myrick of Riva, Maryland, passed away peacefully in his home with his family on September 26. John was born October 8, 1939, in Alamo, Tennessee, and spent his early childhood years in Dyer, Tennessee. His family later moved to Alexandria, Virginia, where he finished schooling. He was predeceased by his mother, Hazel Davis, and father, Joseph Myrick. At the age of 19, John began his career as an apprentice with Pel-Bern Electric and retired after 49 years as a Master Electrician and Vice President of the company. John was a huge Washington Redskins fan and spent many Sundays rooting for his favorite team. Working on projects for his family brought him great joy, and he liked to share his knowledge with all close to him. The time he spent with his family brought him the most joy. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren at their sporting events and celebrating special moments with his family and friends. John is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Louise; his children, Terri Smith (Larry), Rick Myrick (Pam), June Brouse (Jeff), Amanda Keller (Chris), Jason Myrick (Bridget), and Adam Keller (Kerry); his nine grandchildren Jen (Deanna), Courtney (Dan), Caroline (Beau), Colin, Shannon, Kailee, Ryan, Braeden, Connor, and great-grandson Weston; his sister, Joyce Coopy and many nieces and nephews. John will be missed by many, including his faithful companion, his dog Brady. Family and friends are invited to celebrate John's life on Thursday, September 29 from 6 to 8 pm and on Friday, September 30, from 11 am until his funeral service begins at 12 noon at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD 21037. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery in Annapolis.
