John D. Neate - Obituary

ohn D. Neate, 87, a fifty-one year resident of Edgewater, MD, died on Friday, August 26 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD. Born on July 8, 1935 in Arlington, VA to the late John R. and Mary Neate, John was a graduate of Washington Lee High School and the University of Alabama. He served in the Merchant Marines and was a submariner in the Navy Reserves. John enjoyed a lengthy career as a mechanical engineer with the Department of Defense. In his spare time, he loved sailing, skydiving, building model ships and relaxing on his porch. John is survived by his wife of more than 51 years, Katherine Neate; his children, Laura (Donald) Murphy and Gwen (Joe) Gibson all of Annapolis and his grandchildren, Myra and Anna Murphy and Katie and Ray Gibson. Friends are invited to celebrate John’s life at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Wednesday, August 31 from 6 to 8 pm.
