ohn J. “Jack” Noone, 92, a resident of Cape St. John in Annapolis since 1964 and formerly of Maryland Park, died on Wednesday, January 7 in Annapolis, MD. Born on January 8, 1922 in Washington, D.C. to the late Agnes H. and Thomas H. Noone, Sr., Jack attended Holy Name Elementary School and was a 1940 graduate of Gonzaga College High School, both schools are in Washington, D.C. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps and was stationed in England with the 8th Air Force, where he served as a ball turret gunner. During his military stint, he earned three bronze stars and an air medal with two oak leaf clusters. After the war, Jack joined the IBEW Local #26 in Washington, D.C., where he worked for 60 years. He was a daily communicant and lector at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Annapolis for many years. He was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4076 in Forestville, MD and was a member of Elks Lodge #2528 in Deale, MD, the American Legion Post #0206 in Chesapeake Beach, MD and V.F.W. Post 15021. Jack was an avid golfer at Twin Shields Golf Course and he played baseball and bowled, both in league tournaments. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by two sisters, Sr. Odile Noone, D.C. and Patricia N. Hughes and three brothers, Matthew C. Noone, Daniel E. Noone and Thomas H. Noone, Jr. He is survived by two sisters, Rosemary N. Babcock of Severna Park, MD and Josephine N. Fox of Annapolis, MD. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7pm on Friday at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:45am on Saturday, January 10 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Annapolis, MD.
