John E. Walker, Jr. - Obituary

ohn Edward Walker, Jr., 53, a 25-year resident of Edgewater, MD and previously of Odenton passed away on April 1, 2025 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after an 8-month battle with cancer. Born on November 18, 1971 in Baltimore, MD to John Walker and the late Judith Walker, John graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland. John worked for multiple engineering firms prior to establishing his career at Moffatt & Nichol. He was an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Annapolis Chapter of the Maryland Society of Professional Engineers. He volunteered for the Friends of Kinder Farm Park by driving the antique tractors which pulled the hay rides and had recently become a member of the Anne Arundel Antique Tractor Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed his antique tractors, building just about anything, vegetable gardening, old movies, watching the Hallmark Channel, Legos, Star Wars, BB5, Dune and woodworking. John is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Heather Walker; his daughters, Mary Duffy of Virginia Beach, VA and Amanda Walker of Edgewater, MD; and his son, William Walker of Edgewater, MD. Family and friends are invited to celebrate John's life on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 2 to 4 pm & 6 to 8 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD 21037.
