oseph "Joe" M. Cacciatore, a 23-year resident of Annapolis died on May 23 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was 86.
Born January 6, 1927 in Swoyersville, PA, he served in the U.S. Army in Germany during WWII. After the war, Joe graduated from Kings College, in Wilkes Barre, PA, in 1951. Joe was employed as an executive secretary with the D.C. Board of Condemnation. He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans, Knights of Columbus, Mt. Calvary Church Holy Name Society, Sons of Italy in Annapolis and was an honorable member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Joe enjoyed bowling, swimming, going to the beach, gardening and yard work and spending time with his grandchildren.
Joe is survived by his wife of 60-years, Ann Cacciatore; a son, Paul (Ann) Cacciatore; two daugthers, Kathy (Peter) Novak and Mary Kay (Steve) DeGeorge; and eight grandchildren, Michael, Ann Marie and Kate Novak and Nick, Nina, Lauren, Anna and Meghan DeGeorge.
Friends may call at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater on Monday, May 27 from 2 to 5pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, May 28 at 10:30am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N Bestgate Road, Annapolis. A graveside service will be held at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville on Wednesday, May 29 at 10:45am.
