Joseph DiNenna - Obituary

oseph DiNenna “Papa”, 100, a resident of Edgewater, MD since 1973 and previously of Cheverly, MD died at his home on December 29, 2010 of natural causes. Born September 1, 1910 in Washington, D.C., he worked as a property clerk with the Interstate Commerce Commission in Washington, DC. Joseph was a life-long Catholic and was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Edgewater, MD. He enjoyed sports, especially baseball and his family was his life. Joseph was predeceased by his wife, Helen DiNenna, whom he married on July 12, 1948 and died May 24, 2001; two sons, Charles and Robert DiNenna. He is survived by two daughters, Mary Jo Rodano of Edgewater, MD and Charlene Spangler of Cambridge, MD; also survived by 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. A memorial mass will be offered at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 515 Loch Haven Road,Edgewater, MD on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 11am. Interment private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
