Joseph William Moccia - Obituary

oseph William “Joe” Moccia, 88, a 53 year resident of Annapolis, died January 24, 2022, at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a long illness. Born April 29, 1933, in Boston, Joe served his country in the United States Navy from 1952 until being honorably discharged in 1956. He worked for many years in the water plant at the US Naval Academy. He was a member of Annapolis Elks Lodge 622 and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed sports and going fishing. Joe is survived by his wife of 67 years, Naomi Moccia; sons Robert, James, and Michael Moccia; brother Robert Moccia; sister Gloria Taylor; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Moccia. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, February 2 from 11:30 am-12:30 pm, followed by a funeral service at 12:30, at Kalas Funeral Home and Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. Interment will follow at 1:45 pm at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville.
