Joseph Thomas Savage - Obituary

n December 16, 2017 Joseph Thomas Savage (80) passed quietly with his family at his side. Joe was born July 22nd 1937 in Washington D.C. to the late Joseph H. Savage and Nellie Daly. He resided in Forestville, MD with his wife Josephine. Joe retired from the Continental Baking Company where he had a long career as a salesman. Joe was a devout Catholic and lived his life with guidance from the Lord. Joe was an avid sports fan watching baseball, football, and come March it was all college hoops. Joe's passion though was thoroughbred horse racing where he and Josephine traveled to the various racing events. Joe is survived by his wife Josephine Savage, his Children, Darlene Van Valkenburg and her husband David, Michael Savage and his wife Ellen, Robert Savage and Step-Son, Thomas Gilmartin; His Grandchildren Jennifer Van Valkenburg, Christopher Van Valkenburg , Jack Savage, Matthew Savage, Melissa Constantopoulos, Kelly Walker and Amy Busey; His great grandchildren Grace, Jillian, Branson, Reagan and Colton. A viewing will take place on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at 10 am until time of Funeral Mass at 11 am at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1717 Ritchie Road, Forestville, MD 20747.
