Joseph Underwood - Obituary

thirty year retired Alexandria, VA. Firefighter. Died suddenly on Saturday, June 26, 2010; the beloved son of Merva Underwood. Loving husband of Diana Lee; father of Shannon Gatling, he also embraced nine other children. He is survived by five brothers, seven sisters, 24 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father Francis Underwood and brother Hank Underwood. Friends are invited to Joe's Life Celebration on Wednesday, June 30 from 2-4 and 6-9 pm at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, at 11 am at St. Marys Catholic Church, 13401 Piscataway Rd., Clinton, MD.
