Joy Long - Obituary

oy Lemarr Long, 79, a 50-year resident of Edgewater, went to be with the Lord on May 14 following a 10-year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Joy was born on June 8, 1932 in Lee County, VA to the late James and Hassie Lemarr and attended South River Bible Church. She was predeceased by her husband of 32 years, Charles Henry Long, who died in 1984. She is survived by five sons, Charles L. and Dennis W. of Mayo, L. Joe of Riva, Richard A. of Loch Haven and James W. of Edgewater; one sister, Audrey Taylor of Commerce, GA; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to Joy's Life Celebration on Thursday, May 17, from 7 until 9 PM at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. Interment private.
