Joyce was a 1957 graduate of Anacostia High School in Washington, DC. She continued her education at the college level to become a nurse, attaining her certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Joyce was loving and caring and enjoyed spending time with all of her nieces and nephews. She was warmly called “Auntie Joyce” by all of them. She also enjoyed spending time with her favorite cousin, Mrs. Regina Huggins. She would always lend a hand if anyone needed help. With a deep love for animals, Joyce always had a pet. Joyce was an avid sports fan and loved the Washington Redskins and the Washington Nationals. Joyce loved to travel. Her membership in a Traveling Club gave her an opportunity to travel around the world with many of her co-workers. Joyce leaves to cherish her memory her two brothers, Graham (Joan) Anderson and Alan (Jacqueline) Anderson, Sister-in-law, Merciel Anderson, nieces, nephews, and her lovable Shih Tzu, “Gizmo”, and a host of other relatives and friends.
