Joyce Pool - Obituary

n December 11, 2013 peacefully passed away at her home in Fort Washington, MD of lung cancer with her husband of 27 years, Richard Robinson, by her side; daughter of Ulysses Ashford of Compton, CA and the late Helen Marie Williams; sister of Donald Givens of Boonville, MO and the late Pamela Kay Conway and Annette Evelyn Pool; niece of Arzelia R. Williams and Hattie Pearl Allen of Boonville, MO and the late Mary Louise Askew and Eugene Pool; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Joyce had just retired in August 2013 from SRA International after 30 years of service as a Security specialist; she was last assigned to DOD/CIO, prior to that Joyce had spent 10 years in the US Air Force and was honorably discharged while stationed at the 1 ISG, Pentagon, Arlington, VA. Joyce’s life was dedicated to her family and her job. Relatives and friends are invited to Joyce's Life Celebration on Saturday, December 21, 2013 from 3pm until time of service at 4pm at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD. Inurnment at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
