n Saturday, August 13, 2016, Juanita M. DeSimone, also known as “Miss Johnnie” peacefully passed away in her home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Charlottesville, Virginia on June 21, 1927. Miss Johnnie lived most of her life in Temple Hills, Maryland, later moving to Centreville, Virginia. She spent over thirty years working in the restaurant industry. Miss Johnnie was deeply devoted to her work with charities. In one instance, through hard work and perseverance, she was instrumental in obtaining a substantial corporate sponsorship for the Living Faith Church to feed the needy. Miss Johnnie spent many years working with the Ladies of Charity and was honored to have worked directly with Mother Teresa in 1986 when she came to Washington, DC to open an AIDS Center. She saw the good in everyone and was a positive inspirational influence in the lives of all she touched. Miss Johnnie was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, sisters and beloved husband of sixty-five years, Charles DeSimone. She is survived by her three children, Charlie DeSimone, Carroll Ferguson, Cathy Coratolo; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her Living Faith Church Family. A celebration of Johnnie’s life will be held at the Living Faith Church located at 10266 Battleview Parkway, Manassas, Virginia, 20109 on Saturday August 20th at 10:00 am. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Living Faith Church, 10266 Battleview Parkway, Manassas, Virginia, 20109.
