udith K. Brennan passed away at her home on Tuesday, December 15 with family, friends and her two beloved tonkinese cats by her side, after a heroic seven-month battle with lung cancer. Judy was born in the small northeastern Pennsylvania town of Coaldale on January 31, 1948. She grew up not far away in Tamaqua. After high school she attended Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA before moving to suburban Philadelphia's Bucks County. Judy and her husband, Frank, relocated to Annapolis when he transferred to Washington, DC in 1992. In Annapolis, Judy changed careers and moved into real estate at Champion Realty. Subsequently, she took an opportunity to join the Maryland State Senate where she was an administrative assistant, first to Montgomery County Senator Jennie Forehand and then for eight years to Charles County Senator Thomas 'Mac' Middleton and the senate finance committee. “Our best years started when Judy came to work with us,” said former Senator Middleton. “Her caring, love of people – especially our young interns -- and devotion to the job were keys to our success. Judy had a contagious friendly demeanor that made our office a great place to work.” Judy retired from the state senate in 2018. Having sailed since the late 1970s, Judy and Frank joined Eastport Yacht Club in 1994 and were involved in club activities, especially the Lights Parade and EYC's sponsorship of the Whitbread Round the World race. She was also an officer in the Anne Arundel Bird Club, a member of the national Audubon Society, the Maryland Orchid Club, and the Anne Arundel County Penn State alumni association. She is survived by her husband of nearly 40 years, Frank Brennan, Jr.; her two stepsons and their five grandchildren, all of whom live in suburban Boston and her brother, Gary, who resides in central Pennsylvania.
