ulian “Jay” Russell Tucker, 68, of Edgewater, MD passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at his home after a lengthy battle with Leukemia. Jay was born to Polly and Page Tucker at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington DC on October 30, 1952. He worked for Tucker’s Market (his father’s store), Sheehy Ford, Brandywine Auto Parts, as well as owning his own fire gear fit testing company, Emergency Education, during his lifetime. Jay joined the Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department in 1970 and was one of the original members of Company 45. He moved to Cedarville in 1976 and joined the Baden Volunteer Fire Department. In 1980, he moved to Brandywine and joined the Brandywine Volunteer Fire Department. When he returned to Maryland in 1991 after being in Florida for his job, he rejoined the Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department. He has held the positions of Sergeant, Lieutenant, Deputy Chief, Assistant Chief, Vice President and President. He also was elected to the Prince George’s County Volunteer Fire Commission and he was currently serving as President of the Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department. Jay truly loved being a fireman but always loved his family first. He met his wife Debbe at the PGCVFRA convention in 2001 and they married in 2004. As a loving family man, he enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his wife, his daughter, Leslee, son, Keith, son, Guy, his wife Michelle and his five grandchildren, Ashleigh, Bethany, Madison, Guy V and AJ. Jay was one of the most selfless and funniest men around and changed the lives of everyone who met him. He will always serve as a great example of how to live your life to the fullest and to take example of every moment.
