Justin William Adeyinka Bouma, 38, of Oklahoma City, OK passed away at his home on December 7, 2022. Born on December 16, 1983 to beloved parents Mr. Jon Bouma and Mrs. Sarian Bouma in Silver Spring, MD, Justin grew up in Mitchellville and Annapolis, MD, later moving to Oklahoma City in 2012.

Justin spent his early school years at Matthew Henson Montessori Elementary School, Samuel Ogle Elementary School, Nicholas Orem Middle School, and Annapolis Senior High School. He attended Howard University in Washington, D.C. where he studied broadcasting, history, and psychology. He completed summer journalism programs at Syracuse University in NY, the University of Maryland, and University of Maryland, Eastern Shore. He also completed a beginning Law program with the D.C. Courts. In his early school years, he was a member of the Young Astronaut Program in MD, where he excelled. In high school, he was a member of the Annapolis High School Navy ROTC.

His previous employment included Cimarron Steakhouse and Olive Garden in Oklahoma City, and the Zina Pierre for Mayor campaign in Annapolis, MD. Justin was an occasional radio personality in sports and news. He recently was recruited by the Oklahoma City Department of Rehabilitation, and would have started work on January 3, 2023, as a program administrator.

Justin had a wide variety of hobbies and interests, including video games, particularly Nintendo and Final Fantasy, comic books, sports such as football and wrestling, history, religion, cartoons such as Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the Simpsons, Funko Pop! Collectibles and action figures, and U.S. presidents. His love for sports, politics, history, and wealth of trivia knowledge was exceptional. He was noted for his remarkable memory for facts and people. Justin loved expressing his interests through his huge collection of hats, hoodies, and scarves with various sports logos and pop culture icons. His favorite sports teams were the Washington Redskins and Cleveland Indians, and recently he was rarely seen without his Oklahoma City Thunder scarf. He always kept a rosary on his person. Justin was always passionate, generous, and friendly to family members, friends, and co-workers. He always gave a hand to all those in need when called upon.

Justin is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. Lewis Raymond Bouma, Jr. and Mrs. Dorothy Bouma of Hollywood, FL and Mr. Samuel Solomon Ballay, Sr. and Haja Mariama Fullah Sesay of Freetown, Sierra Leone. He is survived by his parents, Mr. Jon and Mrs. Sarian Bouma; siblings, Dominic, Julian (Katarina) Bouma, Adisatu (Abu) Barrie, Jemina (Ivan) Bouma Perez; Cousins including Adama (Ibrahim) Mansaray Kanu, Julian Coker, and nephews and nieces, Charles Bouma, Abubakarr Barrie, Ruby Barrie, and Alieu Barrie.

In the United States, Justin is survived by the Bouma family of FL; Dr. Edward Kolvereid and Mrs. Ruth Kolvereid of Atlanta; Kyle Kolvereid and family; Krissy Moulton and family; Gina Kolvereid (Kevin) and family; Dr. Ricardo and Dr. Armida Perez and family; Mr. Timothy and Mrs. Barbara Miller and family; Mrs. Joann Williams and family of WY; and the Wagner family of MN. He is also survived by close friends, Joey Wise; Hon. Daryl Jones; Dr. Pastor Zina C. Pierre; Kent and Tamala Bridge, Esq.; and Eli and the staff at the Hi-Five Retro Guys Pop store in OK. He is survived by close family friends, Susan Roberts and the Macauley family; Stuart Johnson, Esq. and Ms. Helena Lawrence; David and Josephine Coker and family; Mrs. Femi Helen Nkosi Coker; Dr. Andrew and Mrs. Mogi Blake and family; Rev. Dr. Canon William Lewis and family; Haja Kadijatu Kassim and family; Mr. Samuel and Mrs. Gemina Archer-Davies and family; Mr. Wilfred and Mrs. Vie Auber; Mr. Sidikie Sorie and family; Mr. David and Mrs. Eula Maposa and family; Mr. Mohamed Kosia and family; Rev. Justin boasts a collection of friends and family across the globe. In the Netherlands, he is survived by the Bouma family and Eddie Williams and family. In Sierra Leone, he is survived by Hon. Ambassador Ibrahim Sorie, Sr., Madam Nessay Sorie, and the entire Ibrahim Sorie family; Ibrahim Sorie, Jr. Esq., Mrs. FA Sorie, and family; Femi and Mabinty Boyle Hebron and family; and Hon. Yassin and Hon. Mrs. Rasie Kargbo and family. He is also survived by the Massaquoi and Sesay families; Haja Umu Sesay and family; Haja Kadi Saccoh and family; the entire Rahman family; his closest cousins Mr. Cecil Hillard and Ms. Mariama Massaquoi; and many numerous family members and close family friends, too many to mention. In London, he is survived by Mrs. Sukianatu Sesay and family; Mrs. Sarah Dean and family; Mrs. Yema Sorie-Akinwande and family; and close friends Mrs. Violetta Decker and family; and Mrs. Margaret Cole. 

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Justin’s life on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 5 to 9 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 10 am at St. Mary’s Landover Hills, 7301 Annapolis Road, Landover Hills, MD 20784. Interment Parklawn Memorial Park, 12899 Veirs Mill Rd, Rockville, MD 20853.
