Justine Doryce Bogan - Obituary

ustine Doryce Bogan entered into the Joy of the Lord on Monday, February 5th, 2024, a day before her next birthday in her home with her husband. Justine was the fifth child born on February 6th, 1947, to Wallace F. Smith and Justine R. Smith of Baltimore, Maryland. She was the youngest of the family which included four brothers, Wallace, Bobby, James and Joseph Smith. She leaves behind her husband Edward L. Bogan, son Kenneth Bogan, daughter-in- law Akeeda, grandson Devyn of Colorado Springs, Colorado, brother Joseph Smith, and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. She was a spiritual and cordial person attending a number of churches and also sang with the choir at Ebeneezer AME Church. She later became a member of Mt. Ennon Baptist Church. In her years she attended Public School 119, Forest Park High School, and Junior College of Baltimore. She later met and married her husband, Edward L. Bogan. During those times she enjoyed horseback riding, beginner Golf, skiing, hiking, and shopping. She lived in Germany and traveled to many other countries in Europe. She befriended a mass of friends that included Cathy Gause, Edna & Gene Jacob, Penny & Billy White, Bob and Donna McLendon, Marilyn and Sidney Brooks, Denise Crawford, Evinie Brown, and a host of other loving friends who are in her memory forever. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 11:30 a.m. until the start of the Memorial Service at 12 noon at the KALAS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD. The interment will be held privately at a later date.
