Juvale Esmedia Regala - Obituary

J

uvale “Jae” Lanuza Esmedia Regala of White Plains, Maryland, was a loving and dedicated mother, an adoring grandmother, a beloved daughter, a cherished sister, and a selfless friend. She was “Wonder Woman” to all who knew her, poised with strength, resiliency and fortitude. She was a pure joy to countless friends, colleagues, and clients, always finding ways to bring love and laughter to everyone around her throughout her life. Juvale was called to leave this world too soon and she took her last breath the afternoon of March 15, 2022. She was surrounded by her closest loved ones at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata, Maryland. Born on May 19, 1975, Juvale was the first born of three children to Bonifacio and Magdalena in San Francisco, California. She was the big sister to Jamie and Bonnie “BJ”. Juvale made it her life’s purpose and mission to ensure her family always took precedence over everything. Raised in Fort Washington, Maryland and a graduate of Oxon Hill High School, Juvale was heavily involved in her community from a young age and built lifelong relationships. Naturally as the oldest, Juvale was a protector and that meant don’t mess with her and her loved ones. Juvale possessed the rare combination of business acumen, creativity, and artistry, so it was natural for her to establish her company, Skrib Art. Her skills allowed her to exhibit and market her passion for art through abstract paintings. Not only did she have a creative outlet, but she utilized her platform to help build, inspire, and mentor other artists and entrepreneurs throughout Southern Maryland. Her focus on early childhood development at Towson University prepared her for entrepreneurship as the owner of a licensed daycare center, Skribbles Daycare, for six successful years. In the last decade, Juvale served as the Chief Operating Officer of TaylorMade Experience. She had the uncanny ability to unapologetically hug and greet every celebrity in her presence as if she’d known them for decades. The likes of: Ethel Kennedy, Bill Murray, Michael Jordan, President Barack Obama, Darrell Green, and more were no match for her undeniable charm. She wore many hats but her world was and will always be her four daughters. This was without a doubt her most cherished role in life. Juvale and Eulo Regala, Jr. became the proud parents of their first daughter, Dejalana in 1997, followed by Teya in 1999, and Nadeya in 2006. Together, they raised their three daughters to be beautiful young women, becoming a reflection of her to continue her legacy. While pregnant in 2016, Juvale was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Juvale and Theodore Lomax miraculously gave birth to their youngest daughter, Carina. In the span of two years, she overcame cancer, rang her bell, and since then everyone’s “Wonder Woman” was in remission. She embodied strength, grace, and kindness no matter what she was facing, never changing her heart’s posture and always in good spirits. Juvale is survived by her parents, Bonifacio and Magdalena Esmedia of Manila; daughter, Dejalana Ailesa Regala, and “Lolita” to grandsons Tre and Devin; daughters Teya Laveana Regala, Nadeya Briella Regala, and Carina Riley Lomax; bonus children Ajani and Ayries Lomax; sister Jamie Esmedia Aguilar (Kevin); and brother BJ Esmedia (Ann); Juvale was “Tita” or “Mommy Juvale” to six loving nieces and nephews, and “Ninang” to 1,745 godchildren (and their siblings). As a matriarch, sister, friend, mentor, and teacher to the countless people she crossed paths with in her lifetime, Juvale will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
