Karen E. McLaughlin - Obituary

aren E. McLaughlin, 71, of Riva and previously of Greenbelt passed away at her home on Wednesday, December 20, 2017. Karen was born to the late Virginia and James Archambo in Cheverly, MD on September 25, 1946. She was a graduate of High Point High School and then went on to work for the Federal Government. Karen was also an insurance agent for Carpenter Insurance Company. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Gambrills, who loved sewing, reading, shopping but most of all her grandkids. In addition to her parents Karen was predeceased by her husband, John McLaughlin in 2008. She is survived by her two daughters, Angela (John Mioduszewski) McLaughlin of Riva, and Amanda (Paul) Lewis of Odenton; her siblings, Allan (Linda) Archambo of Galesville and Pamela Moore of Hawaii; a sister - in-law, Carol Pfost of Dunkirk; five grandchildren, Ryan Mioduszewski, Karsen Lewis, Paul Lewis, III, Claudia Lewis, and Ava Lewis; as well as many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to celebrate Karen's life today December 21 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater. Interment will be held at 10 AM at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Rd., Crownsville. A funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1370 Defense Highway, Gambrills at 8:30AM Friday, December 22.
