Karl Mark Stadler - Obituary

arl “Mark” Stadler, Sr., age 59, of Ft. Washington, MD passed away on October 1, 2019. Mark was born on January 8, 1960 to Louis J. Stadler, Sr., and Martha C. Owen in Alabama. Mark retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after over 21 years of service in the United States Army. He continued civil service and went to work for the Defense Intelligence Agency. He enjoyed spending time with his family, outdoor activities such as walking and hiking, and watching sports and action movies. He was a Graduate from Arkansas State University where he played football from 1978-1982. He was a fan of the Braves, National’s, and the Yankees Baseball team. Mark is not only survived by his parents, but his wife, Minnie; children, Karl, Jr., Kris, Kevin, Kyle; Stepchildren, James Davidson and Olivia Gransback; Siblings, Louis, Jr., Hilda Phillips, Karla McGarrty, and Heather Jones; and seven grandchildren. A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 from 10 am until time of Memorial Service at 11 am at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 6160 Oxon Hill Road, Oxon Hill, MD 20745 In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Mark may be directed to support appendicular cancer at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center.
