Katherine Rebecca Buck “Kitsieâ€, a lifelong resident of Upper Marlboro, MD, died on November 19, 2009 at her residence. Kitsie was 97.
Born June 26, 1912 in Upper Marlboro, MD to the late Arcenious and Louise Bean, Kitsie was a devoted homemaker and a co-founder of Buck Distributing , which was founded in 1946. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Upper Marlboro, and a scout leader for both the Girl & Boy Scouts for many years. Kitsie loved to play cards, especially Canasta, gardening and puzzles.
Kitsie was preceded in death by her husband, Irwin Buck, who died in 1986 and whom she married in 1936. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth “Betty†Buck of Edgewater, MD, her son, Howard Buck of Upper Marlboro, her brothers, Tom and Mike Bean, both of Upper Marlboro, MD and her sister, Jane Wells of Annapolis, MD. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Daniel and Timothy Buck, Erin Palmer and Kelly Ingbretson, and her great-grandchildren, Jackson and Logan Ingbretson.
Friends may call on Friday November 27, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 28, at 10am at Trinity Episcopal Church, 14519 Church Street, Upper Marlboro, MD, with interment in the church cemetery.
