Kathleen L. Geary - Obituary

athleen Longley Geary, a devoted mother and grandmother, was born on January 1, 1943 in Rome, New York, the daughter of WWII Navy veteran William A. Longley and banker and homemaker W. Eileen Longley. After years raising her family in Syracuse, NY, the family moved to Severna Park. Mrs. Geary charmed customers for years as a banker in Annapolis. Married to David F. Geary on July 13th, 1963, Mr. and Mrs. Geary enjoyed a family celebration of 55 years of marriage last July. Mrs. Geary has lived in the Annapolis area for the past 40 years. Mrs. Geary’s greatest joy in life was her role as mother to 4 children and, especially, as grandmother to her 9 grandchildren. She reveled in their presence and was happiest in the hours she spent doting on and cheering for her grandchildren. Mrs. Geary died at Anne Arundel Medical Center on January 25th of multiple organ failure. Her family deeply misses her vibrant love and kindness. She is survived by her loving husband David F. Geary of Annapolis, daughters Deborah A. Geary of Arnold, Sharon G. Dohony of Essex and Barbara L. Bell (Joe) of Lake Ridge, VA and a son, Douglas D. Geary, of Stewartstown, PA. She leaves behind 9 grandchildren who adored her: Norah Geary of Arnold; Riley, Connor and Cameron Dohony of Essex, Jenna Geary of Miami, FL, Pierson and Aiedan Geary of Stewartstown, PA, and Laura and Joey Bell, Jr. of Lake Ridge, VA. Mrs. Geary is also survived by two brothers, Robert W. Longley of Wake Forest, NC and Richard H. Longley of Utica, NY, numerous cousins, and many dear, dear friends. A Memorial Mass will be offered at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 Bestgate Rd., Annapolis, MD on Thursday, February 7 at 9:00 AM. Interment will be private.
