athleen “Kath” Ann Loor, 77, a 14-year resident of Annapolis and previously of Riverdale, died on December 9, 2010 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Born October 25, 1933 in Washington, DC, to the late William Clayton Lyles and Catherine C. O’Donnell, she was raised by her Aunt Eva Mae Bury after her parent’s death. She attended Bladensburg High School. Kathleen was employed at C&P Telephone Co. for a short period before being a homemaker, ceramics teacher and owner of Good Luck Ceramics for 20 years. She retired from UPS after 10 years. Kath was a member of the Ranger Rosaries, St. John Neumann Catholic Church and the Red Hats Society. She loved quilting, sewing, dancing, all types of crafts, was an accomplished crocheter and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Kathleen is survived by her husband, Robert E. Loor, whom she married on June 21, 1952; 1 son, Robert T. Loor of Crofton, MD; 3 daughters, Linda L. Muck of Bowie, MD, Wanda C. Paris of Jessup, MD and Brenda E. Fuentes of Edgewater, MD; 2 son-in-laws, Jerry Fuentes and C.L. Farmer; 1 daughter-in-law, Sandra Loor; 9 grandchildren, Shawn Paris of Odenton, MD, Eric, Jason and Brian Fuentes of Edgewater, MD, Thad and William Loor of Crofton, MD, John Muck of Bowie, MD, Christine Wetzel of Laurel, MD and Sheri Paris of Jessup, MD; she is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to Kathleen’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm, where services will be held on Tuesday, December 14 at 11:30am. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville.
