Kathleen Loretta Woolford - Obituary

Sis passed away peacefully in the company of her loving family. She was married to the true love of her life, Robin S. Woolford, Sr., for 69 years. Together they raised a family of five children: Robin Jr. (Karen) of Hanover, PA, Tommy (Debbie) of Hendersonville, NC, Harry (Deb) of Ballwin, MO, Peggy Sue of Annapolis, MD, and Andy (Esther) of Viola, DE. She was a grandmother to nine, great-grandmother to nine, and great-great-grandmother to one. She is also survived by one brother and four sisters. ​ She is remembered by scores of schoolchildren as a crossing guard for twenty-two years until her retirement at age 82. She saw the kids from the time they started first grade until they graduated high school. Several even came to see her at her post when they were home from college. ​ She loved reading until her eyesight deteriorated, then switched to audiobooks, which she consumed by the dozens. She particularly enjoyed the time she spent with her sisters and sister-in-law. She loved having them at her house for regular girls’ nights of cooking, movies, and wine. The bonds of love they shared were truly remarkable and were her strength in her later years. ​ Friends are invited to celebrate Sis’ life on Saturday, July 25 from 10 am until a funeral service begins at 11 am at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD.
