athy Stylian, a longtime resident of Annapolis, Maryland, passed away on October 3, 2013. She was born on May 30,1960 in Piraeus, Greece to the late Andreas and Demetra (Alexiou) Stylian. She was the beloved sister of the late Maria (Stylian) Klug and the dear aunt of the late Demetra Klug. Kathy graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. Following her graduation, she held several positions at the U.S.Naval Academy, the Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, DC, the Maryland General Assembly and Barnes and Noble. Most recently, Kathy was a Human Resources Specialist for ARINC, Inc in Annapolis. Throughout her life, she enjoyed reading books, writing, fashion, the arts, as well as watching sports and classic films. She enjoyed gardening and preparing for the holiday seasons. Following the devastating loss of her mother, sister and baby niece in a tragic terrorist incident in 1986, Kathy became the co-founder of the former Argos Fund for Children which was established in memory of her family for the purpose of helping handicapped and orphaned children. Kathy also contributed to the American Lung Association, American Heart Association, Paralyzed Veterans of America and other charitable causes.
A visitation will be held at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, Maryland on Wednesday, October 9 from 7 to 9PM. A funeral service will be held at Ss.Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Annapolis on Thursday, October 10, at 11AM. Interment will take place at the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Cemetery.
