Kathyleen Hunter - Obituary

***** If you would like to watch the Life Celebration service for kathy, click on the memorial video link to the left of the page ******** Kathyleen Susan Hunter, age 62, a 10-year resident of LaPlata, MD and formerly of Upper Marlboro, MD, died on Wednesday, November 16 at Civista Medical Center in LaPlata of complications associated with cancer. Born on October 6, 1949 in Hyattsville, MD, Kathyleen was a 1967 graduate of Northwestern High School. She was the co-owner of Mike’s Marlboro Carpet and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, embroidery, bowling and reading. Kathyleen loved her cats, the beach, spending time in Goose Bay and being with her family, especially her grandchildren. Kathyleen is survived by her husband, Michael J. Hunter, whom she married on May 4, 1968; three daughters, Kimberlee (Rob) Moore of Charleston, SC, Laura (Kevin) Randolph of LaPlata, MD and Amanda (Jeremy) Hunter of Baltimore, MD; a sister, Marcia Lee Staley of Seaford, DE and four grandchildren, Nicholas, Jacob, Karleigh and Laina. Friends are invited to Kathyleen’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Sunday, November 20 from 1 to 3PM and from 5PM until her funeral service begins at 7PM. Interment will be private.
