Kayla Smith - Obituary

ayla Marie Smith, 15, a resident of Lusby and previously of Prince Frederick in Calvert County died suddenly on Friday, May 13, 2011 at Calvert Memorial Hospital of natural causes. Born October 15, 1995 in Annapolis, MD, she was in the 10th grade at Calvert High School. Kayla loved music, going to plays, cooking and spending time with her family. Kayla’s generous spirit lives on through her family’s desire to donate her organs so that other’s lives may be saved or enriched. Kayla is survived by her parents, Lisa Reyes of Lusby and Michael K. Smith of Edgewater; 3 brothers, Tyler A. Sipes, Michael J. Smith and Christopher R. Reyes; 3 sisters, Selena E. Reyes, Alyssa N. Reyes and Sarah Jane Williams; and her grandparents, “Maw Maw” Crow and Kevin of Dunkirk, Susan Fallon and Thomas Rozzelle of Frederick, Lawrence F. Rupp, Sr. and Pat Deal of West River and Richard K. Smith of Thurmont. Friends are invited to Kayla's Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 from 2PM until the funeral service starts at 4PM. Interment is private.
