Keatinge Keays - Obituary

eatinge Keays, 82, of Annapolis, MD died from complications from diabetes on February 1, 2009 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Mr. Keays was born, raised and graduated from high school in Broken Bow, NE. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy with class of 1949. He received a degree of Naval Engineer from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and graduated from submarine school in New London, CT. Mr. Keays received a medical discharge fro the United States Navy in 1963, after serving in destroyers, submarines, San Francisco Naval Shipyard and the Bureau of Ships in Washington, D.C. After leaving the Navy, he worked at General Dynamics in Groton, CT; became a lecturer and Administrative Officer for the Department of Naval Architecture, MIT and in 1982, he moved to Salisbury, MD, where he worked on computer projects. He moved to Annapolis, MD in 1992. Mr. Keays was predeceased by his first wife Joan and his older sister, Shirley. He is survived by his second wife of 34 years, Rita; son, Curt Keays, and two step-sons, Gary and Hank Ayers, his sister Jo Clair and two grandchildren. A memorial service and interment will be in Broken Bow, NE.
